The Institute invites applications for a

Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f/nb

to perform research in helioseismology in the Solar and Stellar Interiors department.

Your Tasks

  • Perform scientific research and publish results.
  • Contribute to the supervision of students.
  • Participate in project meetings, which may imply traveling.

    Qualifications:

    • PhD in physics, astrophysics, or a related topic.
    • Strong interest working as part of a team.
    • Computer literacy, incl. Python.
    • Excellent command of the English language.
    • Desirable: some experience in helioseismology.

    The position is available for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of an extension that is contingent upon performance and funding. The position may be filled from 1 November 2022 at the earliest. Compensation and benefits will be in accordance with the German Collective Agreement for the Public Service (the baseline is TVöD E13).
